WHO Pathogen Priority List

 In News

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published its latest report on antibacterial agents, including antibiotics in clinical and preclinical development worldwide. The latest annual report on antibacterial agents by the WHO, provides more information on therapeutics in development during different stages of testing. The new report notes that only 12 of the 32 antibiotics being developed address critical pathogens included in the 2024 WHO bacterial pathogen list, e.g., MRSA, gram-negative bacteria, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, to tackle the increasing threat of antimicrobial resistance worldwide. Trana Discovery has ongoing efforts in all the three areas noted above that are of concern for MDR (multi-drug resistant) bacteria.
