New CDC Report: Antibiotic Resistance Threats Report
Patients with infections caused by antibiotic resistance pathogens in the US is increasing. The morbidity and mortality continues to increase as more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the United States each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result. This is number has jumped by 10,000 people since the last examination. In addition, nearly 223,900 people in the United States required hospital care for C. difficile and at least 12,800 additional people died from C. difficile in 2017.
