Multidrug-Resistant Pathogens Common in MSM With Gastroenteritis

Researchers at the Harborview Med. Center in Seattle examined patients with gastroenteritis.  A subgroup, those men having sex with men (MSM) presented with a greater prevalence of pathogens that were resistant to multiple anti-infective agents.  The authors stated that this increased prevalence demonstrated a need for better diagnostic tools and improved antibiotics to treat these patients.
