New Legislation to Improve Access to Innovative Therapies

A bi-partisan effort by Sen. Johnny Isakson and Sen. Bob Casey has produced a continuation of previous legislation in the form of a bill, “Developing an Innovative Strategy for Antimicrobial Resistant Microorganisms” (DISARM) Act of 2019, S. 1712.  This is an effort to ensure appropriate antibiotic treatment for infections in the future by offering incentives to inventors of novel therapeutics.  The IDSA (Infectious Disease Soc. Of America) and the Antimicrobials Working Group have lauded this action as do we at Trana Discovery.
